ELECTROMEN SIMPLE MODBUS TEST TOOL v0.3

READY TO USE

After extracting the complete ZIP package, the program is ready to use.
No installation is required and Python is not needed.

Do not run the program directly from inside the ZIP file.


RECOMMENDED PROGRAM LOCATION

Create the following folder and place the extracted program folder there:

    Documents\Electromen\Modbus Test Tool\

The program can also be stored in another local folder where the user has
normal read and write permissions.

Do not store or run the program from a temporary download or e-mail folder.

If desired, create a desktop shortcut to:

    Electromen_Modbus_Test_Tool_v0.3.exe


FIRST START

1. Connect the USB to RS-485 converter to the computer.
2. Wait until Windows has completed the USB driver installation.
3. Start Electromen_Modbus_Test_Tool_v0.3.exe.
4. Select the correct COM port.
5. Check the communication settings and slave address from the Electromen
   product documentation.
6. Check the register addresses and permitted values from the product-specific
   Modbus register definitions.

Begin testing with a register read operation.


SAFETY

Writing a Modbus register may change controller operation or cause motor
movement. Make sure unexpected movement cannot cause injury or equipment
damage before enabling register writing.


REMOVING THE PROGRAM

The program does not require an uninstall procedure. Delete the extracted
program folder and any desktop shortcut if the program is no longer needed.
