EmenTool Lite is a free PC software application used to configure, monitor, and update Electromen motor controllers and driver products. The program provides a clear graphical interface and supports parameter handling, real-time monitoring, and firmware updates.
Communication between the PC and the target device is established using the EM-328 USB adapter. Once connected, the software automatically identifies the target device and displays its product name and firmware version.
EmenTool Lite consists of three main functional views:
EmenTool Lite is a Java-based application. Java is already installed on most Windows computers. If required, it can be downloaded free of charge from www.java.com.
When the program starts, the parameter view opens automatically. By selecting Read, parameters are loaded from the connected device and the detected product name and version are shown in the Product field.
Selecting Write stores the modified parameters into the target device’s non-volatile memory. In the basic view, parameters are adjusted one at a time. The Large View allows simultaneous editing of up to 12 parameters.
Parameter sets can be printed via Print or saved to a file using Save file as. The File description field allows additional documentation of saved parameter sets.
The Monitor tab enables real-time monitoring of selected values. Values are displayed as curves in the drawing area. Tracking starts by selecting Start.
Multiple values can be monitored simultaneously using the Locked function. The graph scale can be set automatically using Auto or manually by entering scale values.
For detailed analysis, tracking can be paused and values examined using a pointer. The pointer follows mouse movement and can be locked or removed as needed.
The Program tab is used to update the firmware of the connected device. Firmware files with the extension .epg must be placed in:
C:\ementoolLite\epg
Select the update file using Select prog. The file name, version, and date are displayed before starting the update. Updating begins by selecting Program.
Important: Once started, the update process must not be interrupted. Disconnecting the device or cutting power during the update may corrupt the controller. The update is complete when the message “Programmed” appears.
