Overview

EM-295C is a high-efficiency, one-direction DC motor speed controller based on the PWM control principle. The device is designed specifically for accurate and stable speed control applications.

Motor RPM is regulated against supply voltage variations, and the built-in RxI load compensation improves stability especially at low RPM. The adjustable current limit can limit motor torque or shut down the motor for protection.

Control and Auxiliary I/O

The controller includes auxiliary inputs and outputs for flexible system integration:

  • Inputs configurable as end limits, stop, brake or freewheel control
  • Output-1 usable for magnetic brake or braking resistor control (max 3 A)
  • Indication output (pin 11) mirrors the on-board fault LED

Brake resistor recommendations:

  • > 4.7 Ω at 12 V
  • > 10 Ω at 24 V
  • > 22 Ω at 48 V

Configuration

Settings can be configured using the EM-236 serial interface unit or the EM-328 PC dongle together with the EmenTool Lite PC software. Connect the EM-236 interface to the red on-board connector of the device.

Output-1 configuration is adjustable via parameters (e.g. parameter 11). Maximum output current is 3 A (diode recommended for inductive loads).
