EM-162A is a triac phase-angle controller designed for controlling both resistive and inductive AC loads. Its advanced triggering technique provides reliable operation with loads such as lamps, resistive heaters, fan motors, and transformers.
The controller accepts either a 0–10 V or 4–20 mA analog control signal. An adjustable base level allows the minimum output level to be set between 0% and 25%.
The advanced triac triggering method enables the EM-162A to control both resistive and inductive loads. Typical applications include lighting, electric heating, fan speed control, and transformer control.
The adjustable base level can be used to set the minimum output level between 0% and 25%. This is particularly useful in lighting and fan applications where operation below a certain output level is not required or may cause unreliable startup.
The control stage is galvanically isolated from the power stage with an isolation voltage of 1500 Vrms. This simplifies connection to automation systems and helps protect the low-voltage control circuitry from the mains-powered output stage.
The controller supports both 0–10 V voltage control and 4–20 mA current-loop control.
The power stage is protected by an integrated fuse. The control stage includes protection against overvoltage and reverse polarity.
