EM-236A is a handheld interface unit for configuring compatible Electromen motor controllers. It can be used to read and adjust controller parameters, monitor supported operating values and store complete parameter sets for later use.
Once suitable settings have been established for an application, the same parameter set can be copied to other compatible controllers. This makes the EM-236A useful for commissioning individual installations as well as configuring multiple devices in production.
After the EM-236A is connected to a powered compatible controller, the interface starts automatically. The Load & Edit function reads the parameters from the connected device and makes them available for inspection and adjustment.
Parameter values are changed using the plus and minus buttons. After editing, the settings can be saved to the connected controller by pressing and holding the 2 sec. Save button for approximately two seconds.
A verified parameter set can be copied to another compatible controller. After connecting the EM-236A to the next device, the stored settings are transferred using the Copy to Device function.
This process can be repeated for additional controllers, helping maintain consistent settings across multiple units.
The EM-236A includes five memory slots. Each slot can store one complete parameter set, allowing settings for several applications or controller configurations to be retained in the interface unit.
In addition to parameter adjustment, the interface can display dynamic operating values supported by the connected controller. Depending on the controller model and firmware, these may include operating status and selected functional values during motor operation.
The interface cable is fitted with a red polarised connector. When connecting it to the controller, the polarity tab must be aligned with the corresponding opening in the controller circuit board.
