Overview

EM-A24C-JS1 is a compact DC motor driver module based on the proven EM-241 driver card. Designed for embedded integration, the module is PCB-mountable and requires minimal board area thanks to its vertical installation format.

The driver features an efficient H-bridge power stage with low EMC emission, capable of meeting industrial and household EMC directives without additional external components — a major advantage when integrating the module onto a motherboard.

Two PWM frequency options are available: 2 kHz for higher current capability and 16 kHz for silent operation.

Firmware and Control

The firmware version EM-A24C-JS1 is optimized for joystick and thumb-throttle applications. It includes two- or three-point calibration and standard DC-motor control functions such as current limiting, start/stop ramps, and load compensation. All settings are digitally adjustable through parameters.

Firmware updates can be carried out via the EmenTool interface unit.

Adjustment and Settings

Adjustment of parameters such as current limit, ramp times, and speed-2 value can be done using several EM interface units. The EM-236 is the basic parameter-setting device, while the EM-328 USB-serial converter allows configuration through a PC with the EmenTool Lite software.
