EM-231B is a control unit for motorized doors and hatches using 24 VDC motors rated up to 3 A. The unit includes an integrated 230 VAC power supply and provides a galvanically isolated low-voltage output for the motor and control circuits.
The controller combines accurate motion control with obstacle detection and automatic safety reverse. Its high momentary output capability provides strong motor torque during startup and demanding movements.
The EM-231B supports motors and systems equipped with dual-pulse feedback. The feedback signals allow the controller to monitor movement and provide accurate, repeatable, and smooth door operation.
Motor speed is parameter adjustable from 0% to 100%. The controller provides high momentary output power, allowing the motor to produce good starting torque when opening or closing the door.
An adjustable motor current limit can be used to detect increased mechanical resistance caused by an obstacle or a movement problem. When an obstacle is detected as rising motor current, the controller automatically reverses the motor to reduce the risk of trapping a person or object.
The controller also supports an external safety edge. The safety edge can be installed on the leading edge of a sliding door or hatch to provide additional obstacle detection.
Two basic command modes are available:
An automatic closing function can also be activated whenever the door is opened through the proximity switch input.
The hardware includes an optional output for a separate lock motor. This function is not supported by the standard program and requires application-specific firmware.
The EM-231B-RC version includes an integrated 433 MHz RF receiver for receiving commands from a keyfob transmitter.
The remote control system uses KeeLoq rolling-code protection. The changing transmission code helps prevent unintended operation, code duplication, and interference between remote control systems.
