EM-328 series interface units convert a computer USB connection into the serial interface used by compatible Electromen devices. Together with the EmenTool Lite PC software, the interface can be used for device configuration, parameter adjustment and monitoring.
The interface receives its operating power from the computer USB port. It can also provide a 5 V supply to the connected target device, with a specified maximum output current of up to 100 mA.
EM-328 is the standard USB-to-serial converter for compatible Electromen devices. It is the basic version for general configuration and monitoring applications.
EM-328-ISO provides galvanic isolation for both the serial signal path and the target-device power-supply path. It is recommended for industrial installations where electrical interference, ground-potential differences or ground-loop problems may occur.
EM-328A is a mechanically simplified, cost-effective version. Its electrical functions are specified as equivalent to those of the standard EM-328.
The EM-328 series is designed for use with the free EmenTool Lite PC software. The software can be downloaded from the Electromen website:

The functions available in EmenTool Lite depend on the connected Electromen device and its firmware. Typical functions include reading, editing and saving parameters as well as monitoring supported operational values.
The interface can provide a 5 V output for a compatible target device. The maximum specified output current is 100 mA. Before using this output, the connected device’s voltage requirement, current consumption and connector pinout must be verified.
The EM-328 series replaces the earlier EM-268 interface dongle. Compatibility should be checked for the specific Electromen device, hardware version and firmware version before replacing an existing EM-268 installation.
