EM-314A is a bipolar chopper-type microstepping stepper motor controller designed for precise and efficient motion control applications. The bipolar drive method provides optimal torque characteristics, while microstepping enables smooth and stable operation especially at low speeds.
The controller supports multiple stepping resolutions from full step to 1/64 microstepping, allowing optimization between torque, resolution and speed depending on the application.
The built-in auxiliary oscillator enables standalone operation with preset speeds. Speeds can be activated via four digital inputs, allowing flexible control without external pulse sources.
The oscillator includes an adjustable acceleration ramp, ensuring smooth transitions between speeds and reliable motor startup even at higher frequencies.
EM-314A includes an indexing function for executing predefined motion sequences. Each sequence defines:
Sequences can be triggered using four digital inputs, enabling repeatable motion control without external PLC logic.
All controller parameters are configured digitally using the EM-236 Interface Unit. This allows fast setup and easy duplication of settings across multiple devices.
